IE Partnerships

IE Partnerships brings together a group of experienced business managers and technologists with a track record of advising organisations on technology related matters and in delivering transformation projects across multiple sectors to businesses of all sizes. From manufacturing to aerospace, from the rail sector to e-commerce, from NFP to government - the scope is considerable.

The partners and associates share a common set of goals and business ethos of the utmost integrity; to ensure that we deliver an exceptional service such that our clients achieve their objectives in the most cost effective and timely manner with minimum disruption to the business. We utilise best practice industry standards to deliver a quality service and our results speak for themselves; most of our customers come back for more, engaging us on a regular basis.

Why we are different

"Poachers turned gamekeepers" says it all. Everyone in the team has held a mix of positions from the bottom to the top, from the shop floor to the board room. We've all experienced successes and failures and we have the scars to prove it! But we are wiser for the experience and we have incorporated that experience into honed methodologies that mitigate risk and address the failure mode factors.

The senior partners have first hand experience of software development projects involving portals, internet based transactional database systems, enterprise software applications, product development programmes for third parties, website design and a raft of diverse software projects.

The combination of deep technological knowledge and broad business experience ensures that our advisory services and hands-on transformation project work are underpinned with the necessary skills and thinking to maximise the chances of success.

These are the guys that count. London, UK and International based assignments. Technologists. Businessmen. Consultants.

Ian Collins
Joint Managing Partner

Ian began his career at the BBC where he trained as an engineer. He moved into production and editing for a brief spell; ran a private recording business and then became involved with designing and managing TV and Radio studio installations. He held positions as a Technical Director for a start-up technology business and Sales Manager for an AIM listed instrumentation business.

In the mid 80’s Ian co-founded Neural Technologies, a software solutions business selling business intelligence solutions to blue chip organisations such as RAC, Thomas Cook, BP, Mars and GSK. Having built the business Ian sold his shareholding and in the mid 90’s bought a hi-tech electronics manufacturing business supplying computer disc drive and telecoms components to blue chip players in Japan, China and US. He also invested in a security business selling access control and intruder alarm systems internationally and after 3 years sold the business to the Chloride group.

Since that time he has held Board level appointments in a number of technology based start-ups including two ventures within BT. Whilst at BT he was appointed COO of a £50m group-wide Information Management (IM) practice  supplying a mix of Information Management & EDRMS software and consultancy to public sector organisations.
